U.S. Merco Trade International LLC, doing business as USM Supply Chain (“USM,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your information.

This Policy applies to our websites, our newsletter, our webinars and events, our consulting services, and our professional social media activity, including LinkedIn. Please read it carefully. By using our websites or providing information to us, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who We Are

U.S. Merco Trade International LLC is a supply chain consulting and thought leadership business based in New York, United States. For the purposes of applicable data protection law, USM is the data controller for the personal information described in this Policy, except where stated otherwise.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide to us

Newsletter subscription: your name and email address.
Webinar and event registration: your first name, last name, business email address, company name, job title, and country. See Section 4 for how this information is handled when an event is sponsored.
Consulting and business enquiries: your name, business contact details, company, and any information you choose to share with us about your organization or project.
Correspondence: information contained in emails, forms, or messages you send us.

2.2 Business contact information

We collect business contact information only for professional purposes. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information (such as health, biometric, or financial account data) unless it is required for the services we provide and you have provided it to us directly.

2.3 Information collected automatically, and cookies

When you visit our websites, we may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring pages, and information about how you use the site.

We use essential cookies to operate our website, and we may use analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use our website. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before placing non-essential cookies. You can also control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect site functionality.

Our website does not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals.

2.4 Information from third parties

We may receive information from platforms we use to operate our business, such as our email marketing platform, our webinar platform, and professional social networks including LinkedIn, in accordance with those platforms’ own terms and your settings on them.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

To send our newsletter and related content you have requested.
To register you for, deliver, and follow up on webinars and events.
To provide consulting services and respond to business enquiries.
To share registrant and attendee information with event sponsors, subject to the choices described in Section 4.3.
To operate, maintain, and improve our websites and content.
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

3.1 Legal grounds for processing

Depending on the purpose, we process personal information based on one or more of the following legal grounds:

your consent;
performance of a contract;
compliance with legal obligations; or
our legitimate business interests, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.

We rely on your consent for marketing communications, and for sharing your information with event sponsors where consent is the applicable basis (see Sections 4.3 and 6). Where you register for a sponsored event, we also process your information to perform our agreement with you and in our legitimate interests in operating a sponsored event program. You may withdraw consent at any time (see Section 8).

4. Webinars, Events, and Sponsor Data Sharing

This section describes how we handle information in connection with our webinars and events, including those that are sponsored by a third party.

4.1 Registration information

When you register for a webinar or event hosted by USM, we collect the registration information you provide. This typically includes:

First name and last name
Business email address
Company name
Job title
Country

We also collect attendance information, such as whether you attended, how long you attended, and any questions or poll responses you submit during the session.

4.2 Sponsored events

Some of our webinars and events are sponsored by a third-party organization. Where an event is sponsored:

The sponsor is clearly identified by name on the event registration page before you register.
You are told at registration exactly who the sponsor is and what information will be shared with them.
We share your registration information and attendance information with the named sponsor, subject to the choices described in Section 4.3.
The sponsor may contact you about their products and services.
The sponsor acts as an independent data controller for the information it receives. The sponsor’s use of your information is governed by the sponsor’s own privacy policy, which is linked from the registration page.
We share only the information listed in Section 4.1. We do not share information collected for other purposes, such as newsletter subscriptions or consulting enquiries.

4.3 Your choices

Sharing your registration information with the named sponsor is a condition of registering for a sponsored event. If you do not wish your information to be shared with the sponsor, please do not register for that event. Our non-sponsored content, including our newsletter, remains available to you.

The following exceptions apply:

California residents: you may opt out of sponsor sharing and still attend. See Section 8.1.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland: sponsor sharing is optional for you. You may register for and attend a sponsored event without consenting to sponsor sharing. See Section 6.

If you have consented and wish to withdraw that consent, contact us at marcia@usmsupplychain.com. Please note that where information has already been transferred to a sponsor, you will also need to contact the sponsor directly to exercise your rights over the information they hold.

4.4 Security of transfer

Where we transfer registrant or attendee information to a sponsor, we do so using a secure, access-controlled method requiring authentication. We do not transfer this information using anonymous or public links.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

Event sponsors: as described in Section 4, subject to the choices described in Section 4.3.
Service providers: such as our email marketing platform, webinar platform, cloud storage provider, CRM, and analytics providers. They may access information only as needed to perform services for us.
Professional advisers: our accountants, lawyers, and insurers where necessary.
Legal requirements: where we are required to disclose information by law, regulation, court order, or to protect our legal rights.
Business transfers: if our business is sold or merged, information may be transferred to the acquiring entity, subject to this Policy.

6. International Transfers

We are based in the United States, and our service providers may be located in the United States or elsewhere. If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

USM is not currently certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and does not currently rely on Standard Contractual Clauses. Where we transfer personal information from the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland to the United States, we rely on your explicit consent, which you provide when you subscribe to our newsletter or register for a webinar or event.

If you are located in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, your consent to sponsor sharing is separate and optional. It is not a condition of registering for or attending any of our events, and declining does not affect your ability to participate. This consent is requested separately from any other consent.

You may withdraw your consent at any time, as described in Section 8. Where an event sponsor receives your information, that sponsor is responsible for the lawful basis of its own processing and any onward transfers.

7. How Long We Keep Information

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by law.

Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe, and for a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping.
Webinar and event registrants: for the duration of the related partnership and a reasonable period afterwards.
Consulting records: for the period required by our professional, contractual, and tax obligations.

Once information transferred to a sponsor is in the sponsor’s possession, the sponsor’s own retention practices apply.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over your personal information:

Access: request a copy of the information we hold about you.
Correction: ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
Deletion: ask us to delete your information.
Restriction and objection: ask us to limit or stop processing your information.
Portability: request your information in a portable format.
Withdraw consent: withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that took place before withdrawal.
Complain: lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, contact marcia@usmsupplychain.com. We aim to respond within 30 days where applicable, and in all cases within the timeframe required by law.

Every newsletter we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time.

8.1 California residents

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right to opt out of its sale or sharing.

We do not sell personal information. Where you consent, we share webinar and event registrant information with the named event sponsor, who may use it to market their products and services to you. California residents may opt out of this sharing at any time.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: to opt out, email marcia@usmsupplychain.com with the subject line “Do Not Share.” Opting out means your information will not be provided to event sponsors. You may still attend our webinars and events.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

9. How We Protect Information

We take technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration. These include access controls, encryption where appropriate, secure authentication, and limiting access to personal information to those who need it.

Transfers of attendee data to sponsors use authenticated, access-controlled methods. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Email is not a secure medium; please do not send sensitive information to us by email.

10. Children

Our websites, newsletter, and events are intended for business professionals and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Third-Party Websites and Platforms

Our websites, newsletter, and social media content may link to third-party websites, including sponsor websites and resources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on our website and revise the “Last Updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated where required by law. Your continued use of our websites or services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
